Seven card stud is a very unique game in the world of poker. There are no community cards and the other players will be able to see 4 our of 7 of your cards. below are some of the basic 7 card stud rules and a step by step guide on how it is played.
Step One - Ante's
Seven card stud uses ante's instead of blinds. Most people use ante's at home games so this will be an easy concept to learn. Each player will put a certain amount in the pot before any cards are dealt. The amount is based off of the stakes you are playing. For instance, if you are playing $1/2 Stud the ante will be 10 cents. The next step is called the buy-in. After the ante the dealer will deal 3 cards to each player. The first two will be face down and the 3rd will be face up. The player with the highest card will be first to complete the buy-in. This is forced so the player has to put it in. Betting will go around the table with each player being able to fold, call or raise. The Rest Of The Hand
In seven card stud a total of 3 down cards or hole cards will be dealt along with 4 up cards. There is a round of betting after each deal. The final down card is the 7th card.
Deal 1 - Two down cards & 1 up card - bet
Deal 2 - one up card - bet
Deal 3 - one up card - bet
Deal 4 - one up card - bet
Deal 5 - one final down card - bet

Special Instructions - You Run Out Of Cards
In seven card stud it is possible to run out of cards. This occurs when 8 players are in the hand and none fold. This is an extremely unlikely situation but it does happen. If you are playing Stud and this happens you just flip one card up on the table. This will be the 7th card for all players. It will be a community card so everyone gets to share it.
